Guernsey joined the Commonwealth Games Federation in 1966 and firstly competed in the 1970 Commonwealth Games held in Edinburgh, Scotland. Guernsey is a British Crown Dependency Island in the English Channel, off the coast of Normandy; it has a self-elected government called the States of Guernsey and sports are registered with the Guernsey Sports Commission. The 2018 Guernsey Commonwealth Sport Criteria can be found here.
